Basement sealing

| Nederlands | Français |

Water infiltration or seepage in basements.

The groundwater pressure on underground wall parts can be very high. Think of what happens when you try to keep a ball under water...
Any walls which fail to resist this pressure will show some degree of infiltration or seepage. In spite of increasingly expensive housing, significant spaces are thus lost, even though the wettest and moistest basement can be converted into a usable and agreeable living space or room, by applying the right type of moisture control.
The application of ordinary basement sealing always requires a stable construction and base; if not, it will crack or tear, resulting in new water damage. For that matter, most old basement floors do not have a solid soil base (sandy clay) and are thus unstable.
In addition, ordinary basement sealing does not solve the condensation problems: cold and damp or moist walls remain present.

Solutions for moisture or water in your basement.

The treatment of moisture in a basement varies depending on the extent, seriousness and type of infiltration. But the eventual purpose of the space in your house and the budget are also important.
